Hello! You’ve reached the website of the Stevenage Ladies Choir!
We are a three-part harmony, community choir for women aged 18 and over and have over 60 members whose ages range from 18 to over 90! We enjoy singing a wide variety of music from pop favourites, old and new – think Adele, Take That and Whitney Houston – to show tunes from favourite musicals like Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Chicago, Chess and West Side Story (we could go on…). We also try our hand at some classic choral pieces like Hallelujah Chorus and Alleluja.
We’ve been around nearly 60 years and have honed our craft over that time, but as you can see, we like to make sure we’ve got something to suit all tastes and like to mix in modern pieces with the choral classics. We’re really proud of our history, you can find out more about that by following the link.
We perform around four or five concerts a year, raising money for local charities. We don’t audition and you don’t need to be able to read music. We hold weekly rehearsals during term time in the safe hands (literally) of our Musical Director Ann-Marie and our accompanist Guy.
All are welcome, all you need is a passion for singing, so why not take a look around our website and if you like what you see come along to a concert? Or better yet, come and try us out at one of our rehearsal evenings!
